A photo booth rental in Vancouver is priced mainly by which booth you choose and how many hours it runs, then by add-ons, travel and how busy your date is. A fair quote already includes delivery, setup and teardown, the attendant, prints, a custom design and a digital gallery. If any of those show up as extras, you’re not comparing like with like.
“How much is it?” is one of the first things people ask us, and it’s a fair question. The honest answer is that it depends, but not in a vague way. Five things move the price, and once you know them you can read any quote in about a minute.
the big fiveWhat changes the price of a photo booth rental
1. The booth itself
Different booths do different jobs, and they’re priced differently. In our lineup:
- Open-Air booth: a full-frame DSLR, studio lighting and instant prints, with a pro attendant. Our most-booked booth for weddings, corporate and cultural events.
- 360 Video Booth: a camera on an overhead arm sweeps around up to 10 guests and makes slow-mo clips. Attendant included, digital only.
- Selfie Station: an iPad, ring light and backdrop in 6 x 6 ft. Self-serve and digital-only, so it’s our most budget-friendly booth.
- Wedding Package: the Open-Air booth plus wedding upgrades like a guest album, a custom initials prop and an extra stand-by hour.
See them side by side on our booths page.
2. Hours on-site
Booth time is the second biggest factor. We have a 2 hour minimum and no maximum. Most events book 2 to 4 hours; weddings usually 3 to 6. A good rule: cover the part of the night when everyone is in the room, not the whole event. Setup happens before your start time and doesn’t count against your hours.
3. Add-ons
Add-ons are where quotes start to differ. Common ones are extra hours, a guest photo album, a custom backdrop with your logo, and our Souvenir Station, which prints guests’ booth photos onto keepsakes like keychains, magnets and ornaments right at your party. The Souvenir Station is an add-on from $399 CAD for 2 hours at launch pricing.
4. Travel
Travel is free anywhere in Metro Vancouver: Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, Coquitlam, the North Shore, Langley and everywhere in between. For events beyond it, like Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Squamish or Whistler, we quote a flat travel fee based on distance, so you know it upfront.
5. Your date
Saturdays from May to October and Friday nights in December are the busiest dates of the year. Booking early doesn’t just lock in your date, it also means you can take advantage of seasonal offers while they run. This season, for example, bookings come with 20% off.

What should always be included
These are standard with every Open-Air rental from us, and they’re what we’d look for in any quote:
- Delivery, setup and teardown, not billed separately
- A trained on-site attendant for the whole rental
- Instant prints: two 2×6″ strips or one 4×6″ postcard per session
- Sessions all event long, so guests can jump back in
- Instant digital sharing by QR code or email
- A custom print design with your names, date, colours or logo
- Over 40 backdrops to choose from and a curated prop box
- A full online gallery after the event
How to compare two photo booth quotes
A lower number can cost more once you add the missing pieces. Ask every company these questions:
| Ask this | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| What camera is it? | A full-frame DSLR with studio lights and an iPad on a stand are very different products. Prints show the difference. |
| Is someone there the whole time? | An attendant keeps the line moving, fixes paper jams and gets the shy guests in. Self-serve booths are cheaper for a reason. |
| How many prints per session? | “Prints included” can mean one strip per group. Ask how many each session gets, and whether every guest can take one home. |
| Does setup count against my hours? | If setup eats into your rental time, a 3 hour booking might really be 2. |
| Is the design custom? | A print with your names and colours is a keepsake. A generic frame isn’t. |
| What does travel cost? | Some companies add a fee for every kilometre. Ask before you compare totals. |
| When do I get the gallery? | You’ll want the photos while people are still talking about the party. |
How to keep the cost down
- Book fewer hours, at the right time. Two great hours after dinner beat four quiet ones.
- Pick the booth that fits. A small birthday doesn’t need the 360. A 150-guest wedding probably shouldn’t use a self-serve booth.
- Use a backdrop from the library. Our standard library of 40+ backdrops is included; a custom printed one is an add-on.
- Book early. It’s the easiest way to get your date and any seasonal offer that’s running.
Photo booth cost FAQ
How much does a photo booth rental cost in Vancouver?
It depends on the booth, the number of hours, add-ons, travel and your date. A self-serve Selfie Station is the most budget-friendly option, the Open-Air booth with an attendant and instant prints is the most booked, and the Wedding Package adds wedding upgrades. Send your date and hours for an exact quote.
Are there hidden fees with a photo booth rental?
There shouldn’t be. With Prismatic, delivery, setup and teardown, the attendant, prints, a custom design and the online gallery are included, and travel is free in Metro Vancouver. Only optional add-ons and travel beyond Metro Vancouver cost more.
What is the minimum rental time for a photo booth?
Our minimum is 2 hours and there’s no maximum. Most events book 2 to 4 hours, and weddings usually 3 to 6.
Do I need to pay a deposit to get a quote?
No. Checking your date and getting a quote is free. A deposit locks in your date once you decide, and the balance is due before the event.
Does setup time count toward my rental hours?
No. We arrive early to build the booth and tune the lighting, and setup and teardown are never counted against your booth time.
